You can link a Jira issue to a customer by using the Crumbs glance.
This appears as a panel alongside other contextual information about the issue - on the right side when viewing an issue in the full-page view.

Linking a customer
Open a Jira issue and scroll down until you see the Crumbs glance. Click 'See details Click 'Linked customer(s)' to expand it.
To search for a customer, enter some text in the search box. You will be presented with a list of most relevant results as you type. Once you choose an option, the linked customer is shown within the glance along with the following information:
